Is KIE a school?
No. KIE is a Home Education Instructional Program that provides courses and activities selected by parents as part of a home education or PEP student’s parent-directed instruction. It is not a school and does not replace the family’s applicable home education requirements.
Is KIE an ABA service?
No. KIE is separate from Super Kids ABA services. It is a private-pay educational program and is not covered by insurance.
What ages or grades do you serve?
We do not publish a fixed range. Placement is determined through the Initial Curricular Assessment based on the student’s skills and learning needs.
What does the program include?
The program includes parent-selected educational courses, individualized academic instruction, curriculum guidance, guided small-group learning, progress monitoring, portfolio support, reports, and conferences. Services and instructional schedules may vary according to the student’s selected services and Individualized Learning Plan.
What are the program hours?
Educational courses and instructional activities are available Monday through Friday within program hours, 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Participation and instructional schedules may vary based on selected services and the student’s individualized learning plan.
When does the academic year begin?
The 2026-2027 academic year runs from August 24, 2026 through June 24, 2027.
What is the enrollment deadline?
Late enrollment may be available based on space. An Initial Curricular Assessment is required before instruction begins.
Is tuition prorated for a later start?
Monthly tuition may be prorated depending on the student’s official start date.
What is the Enrollment Fee?
The one-time $150 fee is non-refundable. It includes the assessment, academic profile, individualized plan, and enrollment processing.
What is monthly tuition?
Monthly tuition is $900. KIE is private pay and is not covered by insurance.
Are materials included?
Most instructional materials are included. Families may occasionally need to provide specific items based on the individualized plan.
What reports do parents receive?
Ongoing updates, quarterly reports, parent conferences, portfolio reviews, and an end-of-year comprehensive report.
Who designs the curriculum?
A Florida-certified special education teacher oversees the Individualized Learning Plan and individualized curriculum support. Content may be aligned with Florida B.E.S.T. Standards when applicable.
Is Step Up For Students accepted?
Eligible FES-UA and PEP families may use approved Step Up For Students scholarship funds toward eligible KIE services. Scholarship eligibility, available funds, and allowable expenses are determined by Step Up For Students.
What happens if my child is absent?
Families should notify KIE as soon as possible. Any make-up opportunity depends on the selected services, the student’s plan, and availability; it is not guaranteed.
